The Belfast Society Lecture Programme 2016 – 2017
Lectures will take place at 6.30p.m. in the Old Museum Building in College Square North unless indicated otherwise. Non-members are welcome.
The inaugural lecture for the 2016-17 series will be given by Professor Roddy Cowie, Head of Cognitive Psychology, QUB. His talk is entitled:’ Perception:understanding what the mind’s covert agencies do for us’.

Dr John Butler – ‘The transit of Venus 1769, Captain Cook, Charles Mason and Donegal’.
Dr Nicola Gordon Bowe – ‘Wilhelmina Geddes (1887-1955) Belfast’s reclaimed treasure “the finest stained glass artist of our time”?’ .
Dr Brenda Collins -’The Conway Estate in County Antrim: an example of 17th century ‘English’ building styles in Ireland’.
